I got my final schedule of events for LoneStarCon 3, this summer's World Science Fiction Convention held in lovely, blistering-hot San Antonio from August 29 to September 2. They've definitely found some ways to keep me busy. Here's where to find me:
Autographing: Steve Brust, James L. Cambias, Gini Koch, Jay Lake (Friday, August 30, noon-1 p.m.). I'll sign anything you bring.
Reading: James L. Cambias (Friday, August 30, 4-4:30 p.m.). I'll be reading a brand-new story, "Terms of Service."
You've Got Texas in My Epic Fantasy: The Lone Star State as Setting/Influence in Speculative Fiction (Saturday, August 31, noon-1 p.m.). I'll join Peggy Hailey, Don Webb, Peni Griffin, and the legendary Howard Waldrop to answer the question "What makes Texas so weird? And how does the weirdness of Texas spill over into its massive creative community?"
Molecular Gastronomy (Sunday, September 1, 10-11 a.m.). I'll be moderating a panel featuring Janine Wardale, Chris O'Halloran, and Fran Wilde, as we try to get a handle on how a new generation of chefs are using science to transform cooking.
Kaffeeklatsch (Sunday, September 1, 1-2 p.m.). Sit and drink coffee with me while we talk about stuff.
Stroll with the Stars (Monday, September 2, 9-10 a.m.). A nice morning stroll with me and a whole mob of SF professionals. Come prowl around historic San Antonio while the temperature is still in double digits.
