This coming weekend I'm off to romantic Boston for the Arisia 2014 convention at the largely parasite-free Westin Hotel. If you want to stop by and see me, here's my schedule.
Friday, 10:00 P.M.: Military SF: When Diplomacy Fails
A panel on military SF, moderated by Alexander Jablokov, with me, Debra Doyle, Dennis McCunney, and William C. Walker. We'll try to define what Military SF is and what it means.
Saturday, 10:00 A.M.: Do We Need Science Fiction?
A panel about whether (and how) SF encourages new technology and innovation. I'll be moderating a panel featuring Jeanne Cavelos, Ian Schleifer, Stephen R. Wilk, and Bill Yerazunis.
Saturday, 2:30 P.M.: Autographing
I'll be signing things, which means if you've gotten hold of A Darkling Sea you can become the first person ever to have a signed copy!
Sunday, 11:30 A.M.: Cambridge SF Workshop Reading
The mighty CSFW reads short works, featuring Heather Albano, me, Alexander Jablokov, Steve Popkes, Ken Schneyer, and Sarah Smith.
Oh man, I wish I could make it down there for the Military SF talk.
